CS240: Data Structures and Data Management, Fall 2020
Testing/Exams

Online Format of Tests and Exams

Due to this term being online, there will be no in-person tests or exams. Instead of in-person midterm and final exams, there will be limited time midterm and final assessments somewhat similar to a cross between "traditional" exams and assignments. More information about the midterm and final assessments will be posted later.

We only mark what is submitted by the deadline. Plan to submit early in case of unforeseen circumstances.

Students choose their start time for their fixed time period and their exam ends at the end of the fixed writing time or the end of the exam availability period, whichever comes first. The exam window start date was determined by the Registrar's Office and is posted on the Registrar's Office Final Examination schedule.

Your Academic Integrity Declaration is to be submitted to MarkUs where we have means to autocheck correct completion.
The integrity of the grade you receive in this course is very important to you and the University of Waterloo. You must read and sign an Academic Integrity Declaration Final-AID.txt (found on the course Testing/Exams webpage) before starting work on the assessment and submit it to MarkUS before the deadline of December 16th at 4:00pm (i.e. read, sign and submit now or as soon as possible) or your assessment will not be marked. The agreement will indicate what you must do to ensure the integrity of your grade.

Your answers to the assessment questions are to be submitted to Crowdmark. After the assessment has started, you will receive email from the Crowdmark mailer with the link for submitting your files (if you do not see it, check your span and junk folders in your email reader). Submitting to Crowdmark may be done as separate question files (one for each question) or one PDF, as long as, each question answer starts on a new page so you can drag page by page to the correct question in Crowdmark.

Make sure each page has the question number and part labels (if any). You may use LaTeX to create your file or hand write your answer and scan it or take a picture. Generally speaking, if your answer is longer than a page for a question, it is too long. However, you can still submit more than one page for each question, if necessary (for example, if your writing is large or you include a drawing).

Make sure to allocate enough time at the end to create the necessary file(s) and to submit. Remember, late assessments will not be marked.

Your Academic Integrity Declaration is to be submitted to MarkUs where we have means to auto check correct completion.
The integrity of the grade you receive in this course is very important to you and the University of Waterloo. You must read and sign an Academic Integrity Declaration, Mid-AID.txt (found on the courseTesting/Exams web page), before you start working on this assessment and submit it to MarkUs before the assessment deadline of Fri. Oct. 30, 5:00PM EDT (i.e. read, sign and submit now or as soon as possible) or the assessment will not be marked. The agreement will indicate what you must do to ensure the integrity of your grade.

Your answers to the assessment questions are to be submitted to Crowdmark.
After the assessment has started, you will receive email from the Crowdmark mailer with the link for submitting your files (if you do not, check your spam and junk folders in your emailer).
Each question must be submitted individually to Crowdmark. This may be separate files for each question or one pdf as long as each question answer starts on a new page so you can drag page by page to the correct question in Crowdmark. You may use LaTeX to create your file or hand write your answer and scan it or take a picture.

Generally speaking, if your answer is longer than a page for a question, it is too long. However, you can still submit more than one page for each question, if necessary (for example, you write or draw big).
It is a good idea to submit questions as you go so you aren't trying to create several PDF files at the last minute. Remember, late assessments will not be marked.
