CS 492/CS 692 W07 Role-Playing Exercise 5

E-learning for university-level courses

Team A

A group of reform-minded educators who think that the Internet makes obsolete the notion of students coming to class to sit in lectures. They advocate a multimedia approach, using the Internet to deliver text, audio and video materials to university students, making possible effective on-line delivery of an entire course.

Team B

A group of tenured professors who feel that there is no substitute for learning with face-to-face contact between instructor and student. While they see a limited role for websites affiliated with their courses, they believe that it is all too easy for students to go astray while trying to learn in a completely electronic environment.
