I am a PhD student at the University of Waterloo, co-supervised by Professor Srinivasan Keshav (Computer Science) and Professor Catherine Rosenberg (Electrical and Computer Engineering) at the Information Systems and Science for Energy (ISS4E) lab. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo in 2014.

I am interested in Systems, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligance. My current research focus is on the modelling and optimization of energy storage systems, with a focus on renewable energy sources and behind-the-meter applications. As part of my work, I have designed algorithms for operating PV-storage systems, created a framework for determining how a solar farm operator should split a fixed budget between PV panels and batteries in order to maximize their revenue, and developed new models for Lithium-ion batteries that can be used at part of an optimization problem (mathematical program) and a model for battery system simulations which is published online as a Matlab system block model. More broadly, I seek to model and develop intelligent algorithms to design and control cyber-physical systems.
In my free time, I train and compete internationally as a member of Canada's national beach volleyball team.
