Grading:

In CS137 there are in class Clicker questions, ten assignments, a midterm exam, and a final exam.

The first assignment will not be graded and of the remaining assignments only your best eight out of nine will be counted towards your final grade; each counted assignment is worth 1%. Assignments are due at 9 pm on Thursdays, as indicated on the assignments. Assignments must be submitted using Marmoset.

Your final grade will be calculated using the maximum of [7% for Clickers, 50% for Final Exam] and [0% for Clickers, 57% for Final Exam]. Therefore, if you do well on Clicker questions your final exam will not be worth as much, but if you do poorly on Clicker questions (possibly due to not attending lectures) your final exam will be worth more. Note that this calculation is done for each individual student, not the class as a whole. For more information on Clickers see the Course Outline above.

All grades will be listed on the Marks page (password protected). Due dates are firm and final. Late work will receive a grade of 0.

  • Assignments: 8%
  • Clickers: 7% (or 0%)
  • Midterm Exam: 35%
  • Final Exam: 50% (or 57%)
